China is one of the most travelled routes from Pakistan, for business as much as tourism, and the requirements differ noticeably between the two.
Business travel needs an invitation from the Chinese company, and the mission reads it closely.
Applications go through the Chinese Visa Application Centre rather than the embassy directly.
Gerry’s charges its own service fee on top of the free visa. The embassy confirms the charge exists but does not publish the amount, so treat any figure quoted online as indicative until you are at the counter.
How we handle your China application
- Tell us the trip. Dates, travellers and purpose, on the web or on WhatsApp in Urdu or English.
- Upload your documents. We read your passport automatically and tell you what is missing.
- File prepared. Forms completed, cover letter and day-by-day itinerary drafted, documents ordered the way Gerry’s Chinese Visa Application Service Centre expects them.
- Case officer review. Every field and every document, checked before anything is submitted.
- Appointment tracked. We watch Gerry’s Chinese Visa Application Service Centre availability and message you the moment a date opens.
Documents you need
- Valid Pakistani passport with at least 6 months validity and two blank pages
- Completed China visa application form

- Copy of CNIC, front and back
What it costs
- VisaDIY service fee: PKR 30,000. Application completed, documents checked, cover letter and itinerary drafted, appointment tracked, WhatsApp updates.
- Government fee: None. Pakistani ordinary passport holders pay no visa fee. The exemption applies at every age.
Total via VisaDIY: PKR 30,000 per applicant. We do not mark up government or centre charges.
How long it takes
Decisions typically take 4 working days, stretching to up to 10 days in peak season. That clock starts at your appointment, not when you decide to apply, so the queue is usually the longer half of the timeline. Start 4 to 6 weeks before you intend to travel.
Why China applications get refused
- Itinerary and accommodation gaps. Bookings that do not cover the whole stay, or an itinerary that does not match the flights.
- Invitation letter problems. For business travel, an invitation that is incomplete or from an unverifiable company.
- Insufficient financial evidence. Statements that do not show a consistent balance over the six months.
- Purpose does not match the visa type. Applying on a tourist visa for what is plainly a business trip.
How we checked these figures
- verified Government fee. No consular visa fee. The Embassy of China in Islamabad states that holders of ordinary passports from Pakistan “are exempt from paying all types of visa fees” (embassy visa fee and processing time page, April 2025).
- provisional Centre charge. Applications are lodged through Gerry’s, which the embassy confirms “charges a service fee, as a service provider, which is not associated with Chinese Embassy”. The embassy does not publish the amount, so confirm it at the counter on the day.
Fees are set in foreign currency and converted at the consulate’s own rate on the day you pay, which is not the market rate. Rupee amounts here use a reference rate from 19 August 2026 and will drift.
