The United States is the most requested visit visa from Pakistan, and the hardest. The decision is made in a short interview, so the file exists to support what you say in it rather than to speak for you.

Everything is built around the DS-160. It is long, it branches, and a contradiction between the form and the interview is the most common reason for a refusal under section 214(b).

Interview slots at Islamabad and Karachi move independently. We watch both.

A USD 250 Visa Integrity Fee was enacted in July 2025 but was still not being collected as of mid-2026. If it takes effect during your application it is charged on top of the USD 185, at issuance rather than at booking.

Between 1 July and 31 December 2026 the Department of State is running a USD 750 expedited interview appointment fee at selected posts. It is forfeited if you miss or cancel the appointment, and it makes issuance no more likely.

How we handle your United States application

  1. Tell us the trip. Dates, travellers and purpose, on the web or on WhatsApp in Urdu or English.
  2. Upload your documents. We read your passport automatically and tell you what is missing.
  3. File prepared. Forms completed, cover letter and day-by-day itinerary drafted, documents ordered the way US Mission Pakistan expects them.
  4. Case officer review. Every field and every document, checked before anything is submitted.
  5. Appointment tracked. We watch US Mission Pakistan availability and message you the moment a date opens.

Documents you need

  • Valid Pakistani passport, valid at least 6 months beyond your intended stay
  • One digital photograph, 5x5 cm, white background, taken in the last 6 months
  • DS-160 confirmation page with barcode
  • MRV fee receipt
  • Interview appointment confirmation
  • Bank statement for the last 6 months, stamped by the branch
  • Employment letter stating position, salary and approved leave
  • Property documents, business registration or other evidence of ties to Pakistan
  • Invitation letter and status documents from any US-based host
  • Previous passports showing earlier travel
We check every document before your appointmentIf something is wrong, you get it in writing with the reason and what to do about it, before you spend the government fee.

What it costs

  • VisaDIY service fee: PKR 20,000. Application completed, documents checked, cover letter and itinerary drafted, appointment tracked, WhatsApp updates.
  • Government fee: $185 (about PKR 51,400). $185, converted at the consular rate on the day you pay. The same USD 185 applies at every age, including infants.

Total via VisaDIY: PKR 71,400 per applicant. We do not mark up government or centre charges.

How long it takes

Decisions typically take varies by interview availability, stretching to varies in peak season. That clock starts at your appointment, not when you decide to apply, so the queue is usually the longer half of the timeline. Start as early as you can before you intend to travel.

Why United States applications get refused

  • Section 214(b). The officer was not satisfied you intend to return. This is the reason for the overwhelming majority of refusals, and it is about ties, not paperwork.
  • DS-160 inconsistencies. An answer on the form that does not match what you say at the interview. We check the form against your documents before it is filed.
  • Undeclared previous refusal. Any earlier US refusal, or a refusal by another country, must be declared. The consulate can already see it.
  • Thin travel history with no explanation. A first international trip being to the US is not fatal, but it needs the rest of the file to carry it.

How we checked these figures

  • verified Government fee. USD 185 machine-readable visa (MRV) fee for B1/B2. Last changed in May 2023 and restated as current in the Department of State fee rule published in the Federal Register on 9 June 2026 (document 2026-11513).
  • verified Centre charge. No visa application centre charge applies. The MRV fee is deposited to a designated bank and the interview is held at the mission itself, so there is no VFS or Gerry’s service fee on a US application.

Fees are set in foreign currency and converted at the consulate’s own rate on the day you pay, which is not the market rate. Rupee amounts here use a reference rate from 19 August 2026 and will drift.

What we will not doWe do not arrange bank statements, employment letters or property documents, and we will not submit a document we believe is fabricated. A fraud finding follows a passport for years.
