How long it takes
Decisions typically take 5 to 7 working days, stretching to up to 14 days in peak season. That clock starts at your appointment, not when you decide to apply, so the queue is usually the longer half of the timeline. Start 3 to 4 weeks before you intend to travel.
Why Malaysia applications get refused
- Poor quality document scans. Everything is judged from the upload. A dark phone photo of a bank statement fails.
- Insufficient balance. A thin balance with no explanation of how the trip is funded.
- Incomplete hotel coverage. Bookings that do not span the requested dates.
- Previous immigration history. Any prior refusal or overstay declared incorrectly.
How we checked these figures
- unverified Government fee. Secondary sources disagree materially (PKR 12,500 vs PKR 19,500) and the Malaysian High Commission Islamabad site failed TLS verification. Not published as fact.
Fees are set in foreign currency and converted at the consulate鈥檚 own rate on the day you pay, which is not the market rate. Rupee amounts here use a reference rate from 19 August 2026 and will drift.
