Canada Visit Visa Processing Time from Pakistan (2026)

Canada visit visa decisions take as published by IRCC, which updates its estimate weekly in normal conditions and longer over the summer and December peaks at peak. That clock does not start when you decide to apply. It starts at your appointment, and the appointment queue is usually the longer half of the timeline. Start at least 3 months before you travel.

The real timeline

  • Day 0: You send us the trip details and upload documents
  • Day 1 to 4: We prepare the file and a case officer reviews it
  • Then: the appointment queue at VFS Global, which moves hour to hour and which we watch on your behalf
  • Appointment day: submission and biometrics
  • Then: as published by IRCC, which updates its estimate weekly for a decision, longer over the summer and December peaks at peak
  • Finally: passport collection or courier return

What slows it down

  • Applying between May and August, or around Eid and December
  • Bank statements without a branch stamp, which trigger a document request
  • Dates that disagree between flights, accommodation and the form
  • Any previous refusal in the last twelve months
  • A request to attend an interview, which is uncommon but adds weeks

What you cannot speed up

Premium and priority services offered at visa centres speed up the appointment or the courier, not the decision. No mission formally expedites a visitor visa decision for a leisure trip.

The controllable half of the timeline is the file. A document request does not pause your application, it sends it back,

and that is where most lost trips are actually lost.

Questions

When should I apply for a trip in August?
Start by early June at the latest. Summer is peak in both the queue and the decision.
Can I track the application?
Yes, with the reference on the receipt issued at your appointment.
Does paying more get a faster decision?
No. It can get a faster appointment or a faster passport return, which is not the same thing.
